When scholars and King James Bible critics ask us where we got our evidence for I John 5:7, just by asking this question shows us they have not studied the matter. We suggest the critics expand their horizons with better and more improved research methodologies and these few files are a good starting point. Download these files and read them before you answer the matter (Proverbs 18:13)! Johann Goeze 1717-1786

The La-Cava Latin Bible

The Polyglot Detractors

These articles drew Semler into a long controversy with the Hamburg pastor Johann Melchior Goeze over the textual value of the Complutensian Bible. Goeze defended the antiquity and value of the Greek manuscripts from which the passage of I John 5:7 had been taken, and not from the Latin.  (click picture).

The Polyglot Detractors

I John 5:7, the Polyglot, and it's Detractors. Goeze has collected nearly 1000 Variations between the Complutensian Greek New Testament and the Latin Vulgate; and these not trivial or insignificant, but the majority most important: in many, the sense of the Readings in the Complutensian is directly opposite to that in the Vulgate. The La-Cava Latin Bible

The La-Cava Latin Bible

The La Cava Bible being a very early Latin witness for I John 5:7 has Arius the heretic (c. 256-336) right next to the verse in the margins and is a representative of the Old Latin. Old Italic texts were translated from the original Greek in the 1st century based upon Christ's Great Commission and Paul's mission and vision for Spain. (click picture).

The La-Cava Latin Bible

The La-Cava Latin Bible

A refreshing and well though out title addressing the most common arguments against being a believer in the Doctrine of Preservation. The exposition and application of God’s own promises in the Scriptures to preserve His own word between two covers in our day is at the heart and soul of KJVO. It's time to properly define the real meaning of what KJVO really means. (click picture).

"Moreover, it was, I maintain, Erasmus's omission of the comma Johanneum [I John 5:7] in his Novum Instrumentum (1516) that signals the beginning of the process of desacralization for the Judeo-Christian Bible, rather than the later developments of either eighteenth-century Deism, or the nineteenth-century, German higher critical project...."
